Dfina is  the famous Sabbath stew, prepared before sundown on Friday evening and  simmered for hours overnight so observant Jewish families have a hot meal to enjoy on Saturday afternoon.   Known by many names, including Hamin, cholent, tchulent, or shalet,  Dfina is so well-loved, it was even called “The food of Heaven” and “Kosher Ambrosia” by the poet Heinrich Heine, who wrote a poem in honor of the stew.. We invite you to join us at the table for this special meal.
