Matbucha Braised Green beans

Green beans are the ultimate side dish, we all know that. This version takes it to new heights! Easy to make and satisfying to eat, that's how we like it. I take the lead from my grandma and braise the green beans until they are super soft and tender. If you like them with more of a bite, make sure you cook them a bit less.

This is a great dish to make ahead of time and keeps well in the fridge. Serve as a side dish or turn it to main by serving over rice. You can also add to the pot pieces of chicken or fish if you would like an addition of protein.

Serves 4 as a side dish

1.5 lb Green beans, remove tips

1 (10-ounce) jar Signature Matbucha or Matbucha with Olives & Mint

¼ cup water

¼ tsp salt or to taste

In a medium size pot on high heat, place the matbucha, water and green beans and stir together. Once boiled, lower heat, season with salt, stir and let simmer for 20 minutes.

If you like your beans with a little bite to them, 20 minutes should be sufficient. Keep cooking for an extra 15 minutes if you like them more tender.
