PRESERVED LEMON PASTA

 
 

Our Preserved Lemon Paste brings the magic to an everyday dishes. This dish is no exception. The preserved lemon paste adds irresistible umami notes and a deep citrus attitude that will bring you coming back for more.
Crazy simple to make and seriously delicious.

Serves 4-6

16oz/454g your favorite pasta
1/4 cup Preserved Lemon Paste
3 tablespoons olive oil (or butter if you prefer)
1 cup grated parmesan cheese (or any other hard cheese you prefer)
1 garlic clove, grated
Salt, to taste


For serving:

Handful of basil leaves (thyme and oregano would also work nicely here)
Herby/Rosey/Fiery Harissa
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese 
Olive oil



Cook pasta according to manufacturer instructions, strain and save 1 cup of the cooking water.

In the pasta pot mix the garlic with the olive oil, add the hot pasta and preserved lemon paste, mix well. Add the grated cheese and drizzle the pasta water (start with adding ¼ -½ cup of the pasta water and add more only if needed)

Taste! Taste to make sure you have enough salt and/or preserved lemon paste.

For serving; place the pasta on a serving platter, add the grated cheese, a few shakes of the harissa spice, add the basil leaves (tear them with your hands if they are big leaves) and finish with a drizzle of olive oil.

Optional add ins: olives, chopped fresh herbs, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes
